Did you know

While Library For All’s global operations is based in Australia, the catalyst was a disaster of epic proportions over 15,000 kilometres away. The year was 2010, and Haiti was hit by destructive earthquake. Library For All Founder and CEO, Rebecca McDonald and her husband Barry were moved by images of large scale suffering and so relocated to volunteer on community projects.

What affected her most during her years in Haiti was seeing classrooms with hundreds of children that had no books. As a keen reader of e-books herself, the idea for an accessible, culturally relevant digital library hit Rebecca like a lightning bolt. The rest, as they say, is history. Rebecca founded Library For All giving children around the world access to books and knowledge.

In September 2019, Rebecca was awarded the prestigious Community Award at the 22nd annual Women in Technology (WiT) Awards. Read more.
