LFA Expands Into PNG With The Together For Education Consortium

Together For Education

Library For All Ltd is proud to announce its expansion into Papua New Guinea (PNG) as part of the Together for Education project consortium. The consortium is comprised of World Vision as project lead, ChildFund, Consultative Implementation & Monitoring Council (CIMC), the University of Canberra and Library For All Australia. The project will enable access to quality elementary education for girls and boys in Central, Madang, and Morobe provinces, with a focus on literacy and numeracy skills.

Library For All Ltd is a crucial driver of project implementation, providing access to quality, culturally-appropriate e-books, along with in-country content creation and publishing opportunities. The success of this project is enhanced by the involvement of global thought leaders in development. We are privileged to work and learn alongside them.

Together for Education builds upon the experience and expertise of consortium partners in education, gender and child protection, social accountability, reading materials, digital library development, and research and learning. It provides welcome support and innovative solutions aligned with the PNG National Education Plan 2015-2019.

Our Australian and PNG teams are already well into the mobilisation phase, and we are working towards the launch of Library For All’s digital library into schools in February 2018. Last month we hosted two writers’ workshops in Port Moresby that resulted in the creation of more than 100 new books by aspiring PNG authors.

Together for Education is supported by the Australian Government in partnership with the Government of Papua New Guinea through the PNG Partnership Fund.

Rebecca McDonald, Founder of Library For All, moved back to Australia with her family in 2016, to drive innovation and Library For All’s expansion across the Asia Pacific region. The launch of the Papua New Guinea Partnership marks the first of many exciting collaborations currently in development.
