Library For All Australia Set To Announce A Digital Library In Laos Elementary Schools
Library For All is pleased to announce a new partnership with ChildFund Australia to launch an elementary school pilot of Library For All’s ground-breaking digital library application in Laos.
In announcing the partnership, Library For All’s Board Chair Glenn Scott says: “This opportunity is a testament to the success of the long-term partnership Library For All enjoys with ChildFund Australia, and will advance our mission to make knowledge accessible to all, equally”.
The pilot will initially include eight schools, with students accessing a translated version of Library For All’s digital library application on cost-effective Samsung tablet computers within the classroom, integrated into the regular school curriculum.
With the Laos language a new venture for Library For All, a distinct collection will be developed, featuring original content created through Library For All’s Writers’ Workshops in Laos. Additional content will be adapted from the popular Books That Travel collection, and books licensed from Laos’ growing local publishing industry.
ChildFund Australia’s CEO Nigel Spence is excited to be working with Library For All to manage the pilot program saying: “Library For All is an innovative organisation with a mission that complements ChildFund Australia’s work to improve learning outcomes for children in developing communities.
“We believe that every child has the right to a quality education, and we are excited to have the opportunity to offer more children access to a range of engaging books and stories through our partnership with Library for All.”
Library For All is an Australian not for profit scale-up disrupting the global publishing industry by making high quality, age appropriate and culturally relevant books and educational resources accessible to all, equally. More than 50,000 people are already reading with Library For All.
