Social and emotional learning teaches children how to recognise and manage different emotions and work with that knowledge in their relationships, at school and in their communities.
Our foundational Social and Emotional Learning collection is based on the key competencies of the CASEL Framework, formalised by the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning. This framework defines a set of key competencies that are interpreted in a variety of ways to support many different programs globally.
With growing demand for these books across our partner programs, we extended the series in collaboration with mental health and psychosocial support experts in Australia and globally, continuing to meet demand with new, targeted titles and tailoring our existing collections for new readerships.

Library For All’s Social and Emotional Learning Series covers all five competencies and 40 descriptors of the CASEL Framework. These texts also align with MHPSS programs around the world. Our continually evolving book series prioritises books for 4 to 8 year old readers, with a subset dedicated to 0 to 5 year old learners.

Each book has been localised with adaptations to content — most obvious is the language, but we also work with cultural advisors to localise illustrations.
For example, the types of trees depicted have been chosen to match common trees in these locations.
